I model how everyone in a multi-storey hospital gets out during a fire, including patients who cannot walk. I find the bottlenecks and check that the building empties well before conditions become dangerous. This is a weekly-reported study for the firm's principal.

What I did
Built the occupant workbook (area per person, staff ratios, patient types) and imported the floor plans into Pathfinder.
Used Steering mode for assisted evacuation, with walking speeds of 1.0 m/s for staff and 0.6 m/s for elderly people.
Ran the evacuations, read the congestion at stairs and doors, and reported results as videos and slides.
